Standing just outside Bradford city centre, Bolling Hall is one of the city’s oldest surviving buildings, with parts of the present structure dating back to the medieval period. The Hall has witnessed centuries of changing fortunes, family rivalries, political conflict and violence — and today it is perhaps just as famous for the ghost stories associated with its ancient walls. The earliest parts of Bolling Hall include two medieval towers, probably dating from the 14th century, which were later incorporated into the larger manor house. For more than five centuries, the Hall was associated with prominent Bradford families, particularly the Bollings and the Tempests. The household supported the Royalist cause, and in 1642 the Hall became the headquarters of the Earl of Newcastle during the conflict surrounding Bradford. The building subsequently became associated with the Siege of Bradford, placing this quiet country house at the centre of a violent and turbulent period in English history.

Today, Bolling Hall remains a museum, preserving the atmosphere and history of the people who lived within its walls. But according to accounts, not everyone who lived at Bolling Hall has left. From unexplained footsteps, apparitions, cold spots, the feeling of being watched and even a child’s crib rocking all by itself. Are you brave enough to join us at this amazing location.
